Wayama Yama’s manga “Let’s go karaoke!” is being adapted into a live-action film. Starring Takeru Ayano and featuring Jun Saito, the film is set to be released in 2023. It will be directed by Atsuhiro Yamashita.
“Let’s go karaoke!” is a popular manga by Wayama Yama that has achieved great success, ranking 5th in the “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2021” Women’s category and 3rd in the Manga Taisho 2021. With a cumulative sales of 500,000 copies, it has received numerous manga awards and has gained attention for Wayama Yama’s remarkable achievements. All of the works published in just three years have won major manga awards. The manga depicts the “strange friendship” between a yakuza who wants to become a better singer and a serious but sharp-tongued middle school student.
